The Naknakin family

Everything about this photo says 1950’s – the matching outfits worn by the two young girls, the embroidered name hats and (most telling of all) the young woman dressed in pants. Of the more than 400 photographs in this collection (most with women in them), only 4 show women wearing pants. The people in this photograph are all children or grandchildren of Katie Henderson/Glendale/Ferry. Back row left to right: Reubina Ferry, Catherine (Cat) Naknakin, Katie Ferry, and John Ferry Jr. Front row: Cathy (Cookie) and Mercy Naknakin. Cookie still lives in Campbell River (2011).
